privacy, in plain english

Setlark exists because of one promise: your music taste is yours. Here's exactly what that means, with no fine-print games.
what we collect right now (the waitlist)
This site has one job: a waitlist. When you sign up we store the email you give us, the time you joined, and — if you arrived from a friend's share link — a referral code so we can credit them. That's it. We use it to email you once when the app is live, plus the occasional build update if you're on the early list. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
what the app will collect (when it launches)
- Your Apple Music listening. Setlark reads which artists you play and how much, so it can rank shows by who you actually listen to. Wherever we can, this stays on your phone — the app only needs to know "you like this artist a lot," not your minute-by-minute history.
- Your location, coarsely. So it knows your home city and can tell you a show is "23 minutes away." We use the rough market (city/metro), not a precise trail, and we ask permission first with a plain reason.
- Your alerts and saves. The shows you tapped, watched, or bought, so the alerts get sharper and quieter over time.
what we never do
- Sell, rent, or auction your data to anyone.
- Track you across other apps and websites for ad targeting.
- Build a shadow profile to follow you around the internet.
how we actually make money
When you buy a ticket through a Setlark alert, the ticket seller pays us a small referral commission. You were going to buy the ticket anyway, and the price is the same to you. That's the whole business model — and it's why we have zero reason to sell your data.
your controls
You can unsubscribe from any email in one tap. When the app ships, you'll be able to export or delete your data from settings, and turn any permission off. Want off the waitlist now or want your email deleted? Email hello@setlark.com and it's done.
the boring necessary bits
We use reputable service providers (hosting and email) to run the waitlist, and they only ever see what they need to deliver the service. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so here and date it. Questions about any of this go to hello@setlark.com.
